I have tried everything and firmly believe this demo ISO is corrupted.

It could well be...
Where did you get the ISO from?
mount the cd and navigate to the /SME/RPMS folder and tell me what release of sail it contains
Thanks

If I download SME Server 7.4 and then download the components for SARK SME, will that have the same limitations (5 extension) as the demo version?
-
I just downloaded the ISO from http://sarkpbx.com/twiki/bin/view/Main/DownLoadPages.
After mounting the ISO, the Sail RPM is 2.2.4-8.
Now I may be wrong, but on this same exact machine I installed SME 7.4 with no problem (yesterday) and SME 8.0b4 (also yesterday).
The SARK DEMO ISO crashed during package installation.
So, what does all that mean? My guess is my hardware is OK, since I did try NEW MEMORY (same problem) and NEW HARD DRIVE (same problem).
Since there is no MD5sum for it, I double checked by downloading the ISO once again and comparing it to the first one I downloaded. NO DIFFERENCES ENCOUNTERED.
That's it... I can't do any more.

Thankyou
- we will look into it.

Hi, I also have problems with the DEMO iso downloaded yesterday 24 March 2010.
Failing rpm is rhpl-0.148.6-1, as reported by SME Server
iso contains sail-2.2.4-8.noarch.rpm
I am installing as a VirtualBox client and am not sure if the issue is hardware related or the actual rpm.

Thanks for posting this. I was sure I wasn't dreaming...

Hi SARK Devs,
I have retried the installation on a desktop and can confirm that there is definitely something wrong with the DEMO ISO. After exiting on rhdl, I restarted the installation choosing the upgrade option. This time it stops on gnupg. Subsequent upgrades cannot go beyond this point.

Thankyou Francois
We are looking at this and will be back to you shortly.
In the meantime, you can run SARK/SAIL by nsta lling the relevent rpms on a test SME image.
Kind REgards

Don't worry Francois, they told me a few months ago that they were looking at it.
I'm sure we'll have a working demo in less than 3 months. I'm happy to see your post seems to be getting more attention than mine.
