Title: uucp for networked servers?
Post by: rrizley on January 29, 2010, 12:38:58 AM
I was seeing if anyone would be interested in collaborating on a uucp utility that would copy files from one SME server to another on the same network.  Or, maybe there is already such a utility that I do not know about. rr.

Hi rrizley,
Try rsync, is installed by default on SME.

HTH.

Thank you for your suggestion.  Looks like rsync is just what I needed.  A question, though.  Not sure if this is the right place to ask, or if you can answer for me.  But when I tried <hostname><destination>, it would not work, but <ip address><destination> worked fine. Thx. rr.

Sounds like the name is not being resolved or is not known. Check you DNS settings.
