I've installed a Ventrilo server on my (7.4) server following the wiki (http://wiki.contribs.org/Ventrilo). Everything seems like it installed correctly and the service starts at boot but I cannot seem to connect to it from my local network or outside from the internet. I didn't know if this was because the version in the wiki was out of date, so I tried the newest version from ventrilo.com also. Nothing seems to work and I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on what I can check to see why this is not working or why I can't connect. SME 7.4 directly connected to the internet in server/gateway mode.
I have previously had this running on a windows server but I loathe leaving any windows os open on the internet.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Brandon

well, I would start looking in the logs (/var/log/messages and, of course, ventrilo's one) to find what's going wrong
if you need help, think about us: we are far from you, we don't see your monitor/shell.. so, you should be more "verbose" ;-)
