Title: Nagios Check By SSH
Post by: ajkeane on February 08, 2010, 04:56:29 AM
I am trying to get nagios to run checks on servers using the check by ssh plugin. It requires me to set up public and private keys to do this. I have followed the how to and have this working for user ROOT however I think I need to create keys for user NAGIOS so that everything will work. Has anyone managed to get this working or can anyone tell me how to do this?

I have tried su to nagios and generated the keys that way but they still don't work i.e. I get asked for a password when trying to ssh to the other server as user NAGIOS.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks

Tony

All I have resolved this issue and now have nagios happily monitoring several servers and routers.
