I recently bought and installed Darrell May's email filtering bundle.
What is not clear to me is, do I have to install anything else to make it work?
I can go into the user-manager/server-manager and make changes but they do not behave as I would expect.
When I make a filter to move all messages from the e-smith-devinfo mailing list to an "e-smith", *all* new emails go to that folder.
I also have all accounts set up to use procmail and have junkfiltering on (set to move to a junkmail folder. I appears that nothing gets filtered.
I know that I am doing something wrong, but am not sure what it is.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick Evans

Thanks for the tip, I saw that previously, however I was looking for a user experience prior to spending an amount equall to the software for support.
I don't have a problem with purchasing support, I just thought that the software would come with a help file or something to at least get me started. Maybe there is one, I am just not sure how to use it.
Thanks,

Hi Rick,
I am in the same boat as you, purchased it, and really not sure how to use it, because of documentation etc. I know Darrell is good to work with, and an e-mail to hime, would likely steer you in the right direction. If, however you do figure this out, I would also like to know more about how to work with / manage it, and what is required as far as how to update it (rules) etc.

For what it's worth, I'm in exactly the same boat (bought it, it doesn't work out of the box. In fact, no mail gets passed when I turn it on - to be fair, I haven't had time to try to figure out why, nor have I contacted Darrell for help, so this could be pilot error, although it's not obvious what I'm doing wrong, if anything...)
I could probably figure it out, but since the e-mail interfaces change in 5.5, I may just write off the $50 and try an alternative like SpamAssassin. Anybody already have SA working on SME?

Gentleman, the appropriate forum for seeking support with one of our purchased products is of course to contact us via our support HelpDesk at http://myezserver.com/helpdesk.
Every product sold includes up to one hour of support to assist with any installation issues and to get you going. I find the large majority of clients find the products very self explanatory and do not require any assistance.
In reference to our E-mail Filtering bundle there is a wealth of readily available information to assist you. Our product incorporates procmail and junkfilter so a simple visit to http://www.procmail.org and http://junkfilter.zer0.org would be a few good sites to assist you in learning how to use the products.
Overall I do suggest e-smith.org is not the appropriate site to seek support for our products. To assist all our clients I have today launched a new forum site where users may discuss, share ideas and support each other:
http://myezserver.com/phpBB2/
Now just to be clear, this is an unsupported forum for users to assist each other. We will try to check in from time to time, however, as I mentioned above, anyone who has purchased our products and is seeking our direct support should use our HelpDesk as explained above.
Let see how this works :-)
