Hello All,
Is there any way in which I can create a Live Mirror of my sme so that in case of any problem I have to just switch my servers. This is to avoid a long downtown as I can not afford that in any case.
I take a regular backup with affa, also I create a USB backup of my sme every fortnight, but still starting from scratch and reinstalling each and every rpm again will become a pain in case my server goes down.
Please share your ideas or suggestions.
Regards
Hasan

How about Affa --rise ?

Thanks Thomasch,
I can ofcourse do an affa --rise but that will increase my downtime, as in case of a failure I want to just swap my present sme with a new system, which would have been already running as a mirror and getting continuously updated maybe online.

hasan,
affa --rise consume only a little downtime
however, if you can't afford even a short downtime please search 'heartbeat' or 'drbd' or 'High Availability'.
This is what you after, but I don't know if there's solution/contribs/howto for SME 7.x. Maybe other member can help you.
Good luck.
