Post by: sti on March 31, 2010, 03:35:01 PM
Hi Forum,

I installed dar2 in SME 7.5 rc1.
But when I try to make a backup say to /tmp
... or somewhereelse I get the error message (var/log/messages)

mount: can't find /tmp in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

hope someone can help

Regards KHSTI

You cannot backup to the disk the system is installed on.
Local disk is referring to typically an attached USB drive, see
http://wiki.contribs.org/DAR2
which says:
The destination network share can be any accessible network mapped drive. Another server, pc workstation or network attached hard drive. The destination local disk can be any mountable hard disk. IDE/SCSI/SATA/USB. In addition an unlimited number of custom backups may be scheduled.

...  network-share is also not working

I tried pc-workstation and another server

Apr  1 08:54:36 bgs-sme1 e-smith-bg: Connecting to //192.168.10.9/backup
Apr  1 08:54:36 bgs-sme1 e-smith-bg: mount: can't find //192.168.10.9/backup in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

and...
mount 192.168.10.9:/backup /mnt  works fine

Is there a reason why you choose to use the dar2 contrib and not the backup provided by the SME Server ?
