Title: Advice needed-Capping bandwidth
Post by: timlza on April 09, 2010, 05:25:59 PM
Hi

I need to stop a user from having internet access once they reach a certain limit (say 250MB). Is this possible using SME?

Thanks

Not without very significant and difficult modifications.

Thanks for the info

I'm battling to find a solution to this. Does anyone know of something alternative?
The "user" will be identified by IP address. Iptables maybe?

Regards

hi

you should take a look to IpCop and this (http://firewalladdons.sourceforge.net/trafcontrol.html) add-on (pretty old)

and this (http://www.advproxy.net/) one.. works on latest IpCop/Smoothwall and should be able to auth your SME's users
