Title: DAR2 Won't Backup
Post by: newburns on May 07, 2010, 01:15:15 AM
I am getting this return email
Connecting to /mnt/fullbackup
Expanding /etc/dar2/full template
Creating destination /rplumbing-local.rburnsplumbing.com/full dir
/bin/mkdir: cannot create directory `/mnt/fullbackup/rplumbing-local.rburnsplumbing.com': No such file or directory

Also, at first, I was receiving the email that the file system was read only. But then I used the backup feature in SME 8.0 B5 and then added that device (/dev/sdc1) to my dar2 backup. It's mounted via fstab by the LABEL and I have tried formatting and partitioning tons of times. It is always read only file system error, or this one. Currently on disk is "smeserver.tgz" and a "lost + found" empty directory (WinSCP). What should I do? I read the wiki, and I used the add usb disk wiki to format the usb drive ext3.

Well are there any other backup solutions other than dar and dar2. I know of AFFa, But I need another system for that. Unless Affa will work on a Mac G4 box I have.

newburns, if you open a bug and give all the needed info:
- you'll be steered in the right direction to solve your problem
- other users will not suffer your problem in the future

so, please, go to bugzilla and hel us (and yourself) to make SME a better product

Stefano and.. 4000 posts :-D
