I got an e-mail message that updates are available to SME yesterday and initiated the update today via the web interface from a client machine. When finished I pressed the reconfigure button and now I get to:
...
Activating logical volumes
Volume group "main" not found
ERROR: /bin/lvm exited abnormally! (pid 443)
Creating root device
Mounting root filesystem
mount: error 6 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
Switching to new root
switchroot: mount failed: 22
umount /initrd/dev failed: 2
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
..so now I panic. Is there a rescue????
I have a 'clean' install just a few weeks old with no contribs.
Several restart attempts give the same result.

is it a virtual machine?
did you try to boot with the old kernel?
in any case, please, open a bug, thank you

Hi Stefano,
No, it is a 'real' machine
hmm... I booted with the topmost kernel listed: 2.6.9-89.0.25.EL
Do I need to get a new account in order to be able to file a bug? My 'normal' id/pw doesn't seem to work...
