Title: stop dial on demand

Hi all,
is there a way to automatically stop the dial on demand feature from redialling if there is authentification failure at the ISP end?

not using diald as far as i could tell

i had a script in crontab that ran every 10 minutes and 'more or less' ...
tested if chat was running, if yes then tested again after 80 seconds and restarted diald if chat was still running
