Title: ICQ transfers not working
Post by: mark on June 24, 2002, 08:16:42 AM
I have SME Serving my cable internet to 3 other machines on a private network.  I did the default options on the installation, and everything seems good except ICQ.  it will message, but won't allow file transfers from outside.  the people trying to send to me get a "cannot establish direct connection" error.  Is there an easy fix to this?

thanks!

Set each ICQ client to use a different range of ports in the options (instead of dynamically assigned). You'll need one port for each concurrent connection, so pick your range accordingly. Install the portforwarding RPM, and forward the proper ports to the proper PCs. There may be an easier way, but that worked for me.
