Hi All - I've been a user of SME for a few years but don't delve into its depths a great deal.
I have always used it as a mail server/gate way and have had an SBS2003 server behind (dual NIC mode) it as our DC. This setup has worked great and have no issues at all with it.
Now its time to change to SBS2008 and that runs only a single NIC and no RRAS - so we have to configure our "router" to do the static routes we need.
As that router is effectively our SME box I had a look at the webGUI but cant find any settings for static route configuration - can anyone enlighten me on how we can configure static routes on the SME box?
Thanks in advance!

"local networks" panel in the server manager configures static routes (as well as providing permission for the statically routed networks to access "private" services on the SME server).

Thanks Charlie - so simple i feel a little silly!!

On the other hand Charlie, what if I don't want to open up private services?
Only need the static routes to access a webapp over the VPN but don't entirely trust the other network. Yes of course I could give the route a /32 mask , but still. I know that issuing route from rc.local is not the best ideea so maybe you could point out the right template.
Thanks.

back again - i must be missing something or doing something wrong here
"main" subnet is 192.168.110.x
SME box LAN IP 192.168.110.254
a number of devices attached to same LAN are subnet 192.168.1.x
Under SBS2003 we has RRAS entries to make these devices accessible for management.
I want to be able to access these devices in the new SBS2008 environment but cant seem to make it work!
I tried adding extra "local networks" in SME but nothing happens :-(
help? ideas?

Those devices will only be accessible if a router on the LAN has both a 192.168.110.x and 192.168.1.y interface configured on the same NIC.
Your easier solutions are to renumber those devices, or move them to a separate LAN, with a simple router between the two LANs.
I'd suggest you do some reading on IP networking basics. It's not usual to mix devices on different subnets on the same LAN, and expect things to work.

Thanks Charlie,
Obviously the RRAS service was doing the job of the "simple router" in the previous setup.
I've just added a second IP to the single NIC of the SBS2008 box and that's doing what i want at this stage - we will work towards renumbering everything once the more pressing issues are resolved!

I'm trying to get some static routing working (for a client's network which we access over a dedicated leased line), and the local networks panel is great - but doesn't persist... how can I set the static routes to still be there after a reboot? At the moment, I have to remove and recreate the local network entries - not ideal.

it should survive to reboot, so please open a bug in bugzilla and report here the reference, thank you

I have opened a Bugzilla issue - hope I've given enough info.
