I wander if someone tried such a thing into one sme box?
I want to give access to my users from browser direct as "remote desktop experience"
to be extremely concise this is a list with webpages which offer this kind of service
but I want it only for uses which are created in my server with features like "domain login" with access to default shares for groups/users and as server administrator to be able to chose which applications can be installed by each user

tried eyeOS some time ago, but I had some problems (I don't remember now)

I think this would be hard.. it could be done (maybe) using ldap auth, available only on SME8
this one: http://www.nomachine.com/ (http://www.nomachine.com/) is something similar to windows terminal server.
IMHO you could/should use LTSP

Actually I already use sme8 for tests
this mean I can give a try
I wander which one will be "lighter" for server
if that from nomachine.com is as "terminal service" it scare me
because I know from experience that onto one 2003 r2/32 with 3G ram you could "sustain only" around 5~10 users and that server will not do anything else except 1 thunderbird, 2-3 browsers, 2-5 office documents one accounting program (all of that per user)

I don't know, but I probably go for eyeOS

you could try LTSP (http://www.ltsp.org/).. there's a live cd (fedora based): 5 minutes and you can try it.
