Hi!
I am currently running sme 7.5, can I upgrade my samba version to 3.4 but leave sme still 7.5?
B/c I have some new windows 7 machine want to join my domain. But samba version I am running is 3.0.
It's saying windows7 is not compatible with samba 3.0. ( many bugs will make samba server crash down )
Or, if can't. is it suggested to upgrade sme 7.5 to 8? I found sme 8 is still in beta.
Thanks!

hi.
I suggest you to test a little SME8 and then move to it.. even if in beta state, it's stable (I'm using on a production server)

SME Server 7.x has no planned support for samba3.4. SME Server 8bx is where the development is happening, so as Stefano mentions test with SME Server 8bx and please report any bugs to the bug tracker.

Thank you very much. I am testing it. from 7.51 upgrade to 8b.
btw: if I have questions for sme 8b, can I post it here?

questions in "General Discussions", issues in bugzilla, thank you

For questions I'd suggest use the general discussion forum for now. But if you suspect it to be a potential bug please go directly to the bug tracker as it will save time rather than have to trudge thru the forums.
I'll raise the question (via a bug 6163 (http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6163)) about creating a SME Server 8.x forum again
Thanks.
