Title: Gallery ??
Post by: Ron LeVine on June 25, 2002, 07:39:41 PM
This is a question which is probably more related to Gallery than E-smith, but I will ask anyways.

I have gallery up and running thanks to Dan Brown's excellent Howto. Thanks Dan!. :)

Here is the issue:

I can upload and view pictures just fine on the Lan side but when I go to the Wan side from work, I can't see the pictures.

What am I doing wrong? Do you need anymore information?

Thanks in advance.

More information might help.  Here's my guess, as it could be related to a problem I encountered when first trying to use it--are you using the same domain name internally and externally?  Are you using the full name internally (i.e., www.mydomain.com, not just www)?

Let me throw my two cents in.... if you running it off an ibay, make you sure you have it set to Entire Internet with no password.  Hope it helps :)

I am using the same method of accessing the page internally as externally.

I just type: www.tymeless.com/gallery/ into the browser.

Would it help if I sent the config info? Also, I was thinking that I don't have a .htaccess in the /opt/gallery/ directory. would this matter?

Thanks again
Ron

I am running this in the Primary bay with an alias setup to the /opt/gallery/ directory as per the Howto. Should I put it into an Ibay?

Thanks again
Ron

No, it shouldn't be going in an ibay.

ok, I reset the configuration file again and it mysteriously seems to be working fine now.

Thanks again
