Title: About Primary Domain Controller
Post by: haliparotin on September 08, 2010, 06:05:00 AM: hi! Everyone.. this is my first time to try.. i just want to ask about SME server.. i need to know how to make an Primary Domain controller on SME Server and how to make also a Slave.. i hope you help me.. thank you and GOD BLESS...

Some work has been done along this path, have a look at http://wiki.contribs.org/Advanced_Samba . I am not sure if this is for NT4 domain membership style only or also for newer Active Directory based structures.

Unfortunately I can not as I don't know. Perhaps AFFA would help in that, please do a search for that, it should give you plenty of threads as well as the wiki page giving you detailed information.

as you've been told, atm SME doesn't support such a feature..

if your server dies, your client still can login (credential caching) for some time..

I suggest you to read carefully the Affa (http://wiki.contribs.org/Affa) page in the wiki
