Title: Release blocked email
Post by: bulletdodgeneo on September 08, 2010, 08:44:08 AM
I am considering to use SME as my email server.

I usually block email which attached file with exe, dll, com ...etc extension.
Somehow, we really need to receive those files by email.
Could I release the block email manually, if it is legitimate?

No, AFAIK SME Server blocks emails with attachments (when configured to block content) permanently and does not store them, so there is no way to release them.

The email messages are rejected by the mail server, so they never get delivered to the server, therefore cannot be released. The executable content blocking applies to all incoming messages, so it is not possible to be selective.
You can disable exe content blocking temporarily for file types you want to receive, or perhaps use an external email address to receive them.
Alternatively you could create a webshare where an external user can upload the executable file using a web browser.
