Post by: abasel on September 15, 2010, 09:54:01 PM
I have Asterisk Now installed on a separate box to SME. I am having problems getting voicemail to e-mail working.

Following http://www.mcbsys.com/techblog/2008/11/setting-up-pbx-in-a-flash-part-2-before-running-freepbx/ (http://www.mcbsys.com/techblog/2008/11/setting-up-pbx-in-a-flash-part-2-before-running-freepbx/)

I need to do the following

I also added mypbx to my DNS server. I set up an “A” record pointing to the IP that the router assigns, and I let DNS set up a reverse lookup record as well.

But can't see how to set the A record up on the SME box (as this is where my DNS is).

Have you considered using the hosts file on the Asterix server?

If you add an entry for the domain on the Asterix server, the mail program should resolve locally as long as nsswitch.conf is configured to use 'files' for hosts.
