Title: Firefly
Post by: abasel on September 27, 2010, 01:01:26 AM
My install seemed to go well.

I created the music folder as instructed
(http://www.internetlinked.com/downloads/smeff01.jpg)

And put mp3 files into it
(http://www.internetlinked.com/downloads/smeff01.jpg)

I can access the java client via: http://your-server-ip:3689/applet.html

However you will see that the firefly server indicates that there are no files available.

No we don't, you seem to have posted the wrong screenshot I think as I see the create/modify ibay screenshot twice.

I am unfamiliar with firefly, but my guess is there should be a log somewhere. Find it and investigate it, there must be a clue in the logfile.

Each ibay has 3 folders, /cgi-bin, /files, /html
Your files are in the ..../files folder, but for web access should be in the ..../html folder.

Hi,

The contrib definitely said "files" but I have copied them to "HTML" as well, but still no joy.

Hi,
It does not matter where you put the files, but the best thing to do is to create a symlink in a shorter location. Firefly does not like long pathways:
Code: [Select]
ln -s /home/e-smith/files/ibays/music/html /musicThen configure firefly to read from the new location "/music"

Too bad iTunes10 will break "once again" the compatibility with firefly, and the project seems dead :(

Best,
