Title: Interactive Mode bootup
Post by: kryptos on November 04, 2010, 09:48:07 AM
Hello all,

How do I enter to interactive mode on SME. I tried pressing "I" when a prompt ask but still can't get into interactive mode. Is there anyway I can set it automatically to start on interactive mode? I need to bypass one startup because it hangs up during bootup. It stop on this one " Enabling IP Masquerading". I don't what causes this it suddenly stop.

Regards,
Rocel

try to boot with SME's cd in rescue mode.. mount your SME installation (you will be asked to do so) in read/write, then follow the instructions to chroot

now you can move to /var/log/ and search in messages log for errors.

eventually, you can do such a thing
NOTE: children, don't do it at home
- move to /home/e-smith/db
- make a copy of configuration
- edit configuration and find the row
Code: [Select]
masq=service|DenylogTarget|drop|Logging|most|Stealth|no|Trace|disabled|pptp|yes|status|enabled
- change 'enabled' with 'disabled': be sure to not alter file structure (spaces, LF, pipes etc)
- save file and reboot

No need to do that, Can boot in single user mode via grub menu. Search here (or ask google) for detailed instructions.
