Title: Is the SME firewall SPI?
Post by: tviles on December 02, 2010, 03:43:22 PM
A requirement for a upcoming project states we must have SPI or Stateful Packet Inspection firewall. Running 7.51 in gateway mode. I find the definition of SPI as - A firewall technology that ensures that all inbound packets are the result of an outbound request. Thanks Tracy
We use DSL modem coming into SME server then to hub and on to the desktops. The project is just one desktop that will transmit info to another agency.

It's an older post, but still applies to the current versions: http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,26758.msg109519.html#msg109519
