Title: FYI - lazy_admin_tools and non-standard username experience
Post by: bloodshoteye on December 16, 2010, 06:36:33 PM
Hi,

For what it's worth, here is an unwanted experience with smeserver-lazy_admin_tools.
I was adding a list of users and missed a ü in one of the user names. The list was created from another list according to lat-users requirements, but the accented character slipped through.

It pays to check carefully before running the script. In this case it stopped with an error after partly creating the user account. Both lat-users and the SME panel would not successfully add another user after that.

The server panel would not delete this account, but the solution was quite easy (although I spent 2 hours finding it) - I ran
Quote
/sbin/e-smith/db accounts delete kühjos
and refreshed the panel. Note that it was necessary to type the ü using Alt + 129 on the command line.

Job done and account creation via lat-users back to normal.

Cheers,
