We've made the SAIL V3 SME8b6 .iso available for those who would like to download and install it.  Please read the install notes in the wiki because there are a few differences from a standard sme install.

At this point I have nothing to lose !!
 I'm downloading this ISO and might just blow away my SME8 and start again.
