Server: 7.5.1
Server name: s01 (s01.gotolearn.org)
Desktop client: MS Outlook 2000
Yesterday afternoon, internal POP3 access quit retrieving email from the server. I could launch webmail and see messages on the server. SMTP outbound worked. POP3 and SMTP are specified as s01 in MS Outlook configuration.
Last night I applied the most recent updates and reconfigured/rebooted the server. After the reboot and still today, MS Outlook keeps telling me "The POP3 server name you specified cannot be found. Please check the name and try again." whenever I try to retrieve messages from the server. Using alternate POP3 names in MS Outlook (mail.gotolearn.org, s01.gotolearn.org, 192.168.0.10) all get the same error. SMTP outbound still works using s01.
Trying to make changes using the administrative panels results in an Operational Error (Operation status report Error occurred while updating system configuration.).
Any suggestions as to why message retrieval would suddenly quit, and why after reboot the POP3 name is no longer valid, and why trying to use the email panel to make changes results in an operational error?
Thanks,
Jim Goode

looks like a dns issue to me, but you should open a bug in bugzilla asap

On my desktop I installed Mozilla Thunderbird 3.1.7
It will configure and work as imaps:143 but fails when I try to configure it as pop:110
POP3 appears to be the main problem.
