Title: Marketing Campaign

hi guys hope you can help

i have two questions

1. i want to start a marketing campaign. is there a email marketing contrib that you can recommend i use to enter all relevant info eg: email address, name, surname etc. i want to use that info and then send a mailshot to groups(s) re: products and services

2. what is the quickest way of harvesting email accounts ( i have the maillog contrib installed ) to be imported into the mailshot application

any ideas?

Perhaps you can use the mailman contrib, this is a package used for managing mailing lists. Although it is more geared to exchanging mail from all members in the group to all other members, perhaps you might be able to configure it that some people can post to it, and others can only read from it. For mailman please see the wiki, IIRC there is a page on it in the wiki.

I am not sure if what you are planning to do is legal. In many countries it is required to opt-in for mailing lists and you are not allowed to subscribe users by harvesting their e-mail addresses from your servers logfile.

I´m using http://pommo.org/Main_Page  (http://pommo.org/Main_Page) in one client... and he´s happy. SME7.5.1 ... but have installed a lot of time ago so do not remember any problem.
