Hello
When I use Outlook to sent mails from a Mac, I got an error: Server can't be found.
This only happens when I connect with WIFI to the server.
When I connect with per cable to the server, everything is fine.
And when I change the wireless IP on the Mac from DHCP (...131) to manual IP (eg ...132) also everything is fine.
What can that be?
Thanks alot!

hi Martin this is first reply attempt so add a sprinkle of salt, first thing is the server acting as the dhcp server? suggest that you use the server instead of the router dhcp. see how you go from there, also note the gateway setting when using the lan connection and the wireless connection, this might help you. johm

Hello!
Yes the server ist the dhcp server.
The server is also the gateway and also the "router".
This is strange, because with the not-working-IP (while sending emails over SMTP), every other internet function is working ( like http, ftp, ssh ...).
Thx

Hi Martin, my last suggestion would be to do some troubleshooting with regards to the "port" the imap account is using.
I had problems with imap and was able to resolve it by using the correct port and security protocol. Search the forum for more info...sorry cant help any more. :-)

Where on SME is defined which client gets which IP?

(A) You assign hostnames (PCs) and IP addresses under the "Hostnames and addresses" panel in server-manager.
You need to know the PCs hostname (the name you gave the PC) and its MAC address(looks like A0:B7:C0:D9:45:EF) and the IP address you want it to have.
For Windows PCs, Start/Run "cmd" then enter "ipconfig /all"
For Macs, try this http://www.wikihow.com/Find-Your-IP-Address-on-a-Mac (http://www.wikihow.com/Find-Your-IP-Address-on-a-Mac). If that does not show the MAC, try adding "/all" to "ipconfig"
For Linux, get a terminal window, type "ifconfig"
(B) logon to you Wireles box and turn OFF the DHCP setting. This means make the WAP NOT give IP addresses out. Your laptop should get an address from the SME. You may also set your Outlook to look for the server by IP not hostname. eg POP server = 192.168.1.1 instead of mail.myserver.mynetwork
