How do I update a E-Smith 4.0 b3 server, that's in use, to E-Smith 4.0 b5?
Or does it need to be backed up, blown away, and restored after E-Smith 4.0 b5 is installed?

Why not goto the latest revision of 4.0 which is beta 6?

No, you can upgrade the e-smith RPMs in place. Log in as root - Alt/F3, user root, and the admin password, download the updated e-smith RPMs (grab the latest) from ftp://ftp.e-smith.net/pub/e-smith/dev/e-smith-4.0b6/RPMS
and do "rpm -Uhv e-smith-*", then do:
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event console-save
and you should be running the latest code. Note that to take advantage of some bug fixes in the printing setup, you will need to delete and then re-add any printers you have set up on the server.
