I have a network with a number of machines, most of which use static IPs (for historical reasons rather than anything else).
I've just installed Sarg to keep track of usage (the boss reckons that some people are making inappropriate use of the internet during work hours). Problem I have is that Sag shows a number of figures broken down under machine names. The names are usually something like this: pc-00132.<dommain-name>. I've not found any easy way to correlate the machine names to the IP address, and I'm wondering if there is any easy way to do so?
I assume that if the machines were using DHCP, their names would be displayed, but with the static addresses, there doesn't seem to be anything that allows me to work out what IP relates to each machine name.
I've tried a few searches, but I've not managed to find anything that looks relevant.
Paul.

you could use LAT (http://wiki.contribs.org/Lazy_Admin_Tools) toenter hostnames into "hostnames and addresses" panel.. in this way you'll have the hostnames in your sarg reports

unfortunately not (yet).. see this bug (http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2388) for reference

Thanks. They look useful anyway, so I'll certainly give them a try.

Interesting. I'll keep an eye out for that. It would be useful.
