Title: sme 7.x and dell server

Hello,

I'm a newbie in linux and network. But our network admin has not time to find a solution.

We have a dell server. It's used as a files server and a gateway. Everything is ok, but every day dell server needs to restart, or else the network doesn't work.

The first people who arrives at the office restarts the server but this isn't a good and durable solution.

Do you think it could be a driver problem. Or something else ?

hi, welcome here..

unfortunately you don't tell us anything usefull to diagnose your problem..
what version of SME are you using?
what model of dell server are we talking about?
who did the setup? you? and how was the server setup?

If the server has a usb keyboard or usb mouse unplug them before a boot and see what results you get
as said
try to be specfic as you can on what is happening now and historically
how old is this computer?
Has it been and is it on a ups?
Leave the server running over the night with the ethernet cable unpluged.
It maybe just hardware, process elimination is the key to your answer

Hello, sorry for my late reponse.

Our sme is a 7.5.1 and this server is a dell poweredge T105.

On this server we havn't keyboard or mouse connected. Only ethernet on motherborad and ethernet on link card.

sorry but my crystal ball is broken..

how do you think we can help you troubleshooting your problem?

at the moment we only know that you have a dell t105 without monitor and keyboard with SME 7.5.1 having some kind of issue..
