Title: Error: Missing Dependency: asterisk = 1:1.4.21.1-65.el4
Post by: WOXOF on April 21, 2011, 12:58:02 PM
I am running a 'yum update' and am receiving the following error message:

Error: Missing Dependency: asterisk = 1:1.4.21.1-65.el4 is needed by package asterisk-misdn

I am using sail-2.2.1-701 along with Asterisk 1.4.21.1 and have been for some time without problem.

I'm not 100% sure what I am doing wrong here - appreciate the assistance.

Hello

Yum update will often result in a broken Asterisk.  To understand why look at this page

http://sarkpbx.com/twiki/bin/view/Main/AsteriskDahdi

In the example you show, asterisk-misdn (one of the BRI card drivers) is moaning about Asterisk rpms releases.  If you don't use a BRI card then you can probably remove asterisk-misdn altogether. However, if the yum update has upgraded your kernel then you may also have other problems to deal with.

Kind Regards
