Title: Disable/remove SME proxy.pac file from operation
Post by: CraigZA on July 07, 2011, 08:14:36 AM
Greetings from South Africa (yay 1st post here!),

In a nutshell, I'm trialling a few SME 8 boxes in server-only mode to replace some aging SUSE servers.  I don't want to make use of the Squid proxy feature in SME, that will be handled instead by my pfSense firewalls.

I want to know if it's possible to disable/remove the proxy.pac file that ships with SME server, as I'd prefer to just copy my wpad.dat file into the html folder on the Primary i-bay and have clients pick it up from there, saves me doing custom template configuration for my branches?

Spent some time searching the forums and reading the wiki and developers guide last night but I couldn't find a way, any advice appreciated.

Thanks
Craig.

Custom template doesn't take long, and I don't know of any other simple way to do it.

Thanks for info CharlieBrady, I'll point it via DNS to a Windows box running WAMP for now until I get my head around the custom templates setup (still very new to SME server).

Thanks again!
Craig.
