Hi everyone,
I am a complete noob with samba and linux (and SME Server) so I apologize if this is a silly issue. I'm running SME Server 7.5.1 and I'm trying to use Samba to share printers. I have the printers installed and working but I need to be able to install them without interaction. I'm having LOADS of issues with uploading the drivers to Samba. I want to be able to do it using the APW (Add Printer Wizard) that is a popular way to go.
My Samba version is 3.0 and they are all the way up to 3.6. Can anyone help me with upgrading my Samba to a newer version? That would be great. Thanks!

Maybe this is what you want

There are 2 other samba contrib wiki articles you might also read.
Please take the time to read the various Contrib & Howto articles as your questions may have already been answered or catered for.

That did allow the "New Driver" button to be clickable but when I try to actually upload the driver I get an error. My error says: Cannot copy file to destination directory. Can anyone help me get to the next step? I have set printer permissions for my user so I'm unsure as to why it won't work.

I have found the easiest way is to log into your domain as user "admin" and upload.
Alternately you can store the drivers in a shared folder (eg iBay) and use m$ "printui" to load the driver and settings from a file. Google it to find the options and examples. I put the printui in a logon script and it works very well. Just installing the printer driver doesn't always set the default printer setup, as I have a user that uses account tracking on the photocopier and the default install doesn't set the options correctly.
