Title: Wordpress Contribs Inactivity

I have been wondering why there isn't any activity in the contribs repository for WordPress for over 3 years?  Maybe I am incorrect? If I am can someone point me to where I can find a recent version of WordPress via a repository?

My guess is the maintainer lost interest. Apart from that the latest Wordpress versions will not run on SME Server 7.x as they require PHP 5 IIRC.

fwiw, I had an existing sme 7.x install with wordpress installed. I installed a new sme8 beta6 and restored my files from a backup.
I then followed the manual instructions here http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress (http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress) and a current version 3.2.1 version of wordpress appears to be working correctly http://sages.com.au/wordpress/ (http://sages.com.au/wordpress/). ymmv
