Title: log file extension

Hello,

exploring my log files in /var/log/ on different SME i have seen something interesting :

we can see two different extension to log files like qmail or qpsmtpd.

*.u and *.s

It seems that the most common used to be .s (as i used to have a script working with this extension for awstats and qmail) but on newer SME i only see .u files  or most .u files with one .s in the middle.

Somebody can point me out the reason of these two extensions ?

thank you for pointing me this ! research engines were not really friendly searching for ".s" and ".u"
