Title: howto block email for an entire subdomain
Post by: hanscees on October 21, 2011, 07:08:04 PM
Hi,

I have a domain say domain.org.
The sme-server is called mail.domain.org.
However, the sme-server accepts mail on user@mail.domain.org. Somehow this is not spam controlled I think since a lot of spam comes in this way.

How can I make sure the server does not accept mail for the subdomain mail.domain.org at all?

Please check your headers as every mail that comes in through the external interface should be spam checked if you have SPAM checking enabled. If this is really true you should report a bug.

I think you are chasing the wrong trail with this... do you have RBL enabled?
My experience is that SME Server is fighting SPAM quite properly, with RBL enabled, see http://wiki.contribs.org/Email#Real-time_Blackhole_List_.28RBL.29.

Forget my question, I see I misinterpreted my logging.
These are simply emails qpsmtp delivers to local qmail. Then it stated the local host name after the @ sign.

Sorry to waste your time!
