Title: SME & LSB
Post by: InteXX on November 23, 2011, 09:32:56 AM
Hello

I'm trying to install LogMeIn's Hamachi client, as found here:

  https://secure.logmein.com/labs/

The client requires something called LSB (apparently stands for Linux Standard Base).

Does SME have this? If not, how to get it? Google isn't revealing much on this one for some reason.

Thanks,
Jeff Bowman

LSB is not a piece of software it is more of a standard/protocol concerning portability of linux applications between distributions for more information see https://wiki.linuxfoundation.org/en/Linux_Standard_Base_%28LSB%29

Got it, thanks.

I found good info here:

    http://pkgs.org/centos-5-rhel-5/centos-rhel-i386/redhat-lsb-4.0-2.1.4.el5.i386.rpm.html

The install command is simple:

    # yum install redhat-lsb

I was expecting problems, as the instructions indicate CentOS 5 and I believe SME 7.5.1 is currently at 4.8 (correct me, please), but it went off without a hitch. I didn't even have to reboot  8-)

Thanks,
Jeff Bowman
