Title: Zoneminder
Post by: Nokia390 on November 23, 2011, 08:59:10 PM
Hello
As I have not found in the wiki about Zoneminder, I tested and it's working.

I Install dependencies:
alsa-lib-1.0.6-5.RHEL4.i386.rpm
mpeg_encode-1.5b-4.i386.rpm
perl-Archive-Zip-1.20-1.el4.rf.noarch.rpm
perl-Device-SerialPort-1.003001-1.el4.rf.i386.rpm
perl-MIME-Lite-3.01-2.2.el4.rf.noarch.rpm
vidcat-0.7.2-2.i386.rpm

And than install:
smeserver-zoneminder-0.1-4.el4.sme.noarch.rpm
zoneminder-1.22.3-9.el4.sme.i386.rpm

I do not know if it's the best procedure, but it works perfectly
(sorry my English)

Just installing smeserver-zoneminder should have dragged in all dependencies for you if the contrib is written properly, which would have saved you the hassle of manually chasing the dependencies:

Code: [Select]
yum install smeserver-zoneminder --enablerepo=smecontribs

I thought there are issues about needing to recompile kernel modules where required.
Here are some old files that may be a useful reference, and if you search back in these forums a few years there is other information:
