Title: dual modems?
Post by: Brian High on April 03, 2000, 11:38:55 PM
My ISP offers "dual bonded 56k" access using "multi PPP"
protocol.

Does e-smith support this?  Has anyone tried it?  How
do you set it up?

I have currently been running e-smith for 9 mos. with
a single 56k modem (Diamond Supra).

E-smith does not support it. If it can be done with linux, it can be done with the e-smith server, but you will need to modify your configuration. There is some documentation to help you do this at http://www.e-smith.org/custom/. I would guess that the modification you require is non-trivial.

Surely this would be another worthwhile feather in the SME cap.
Providing a marketing edge for SME to businesses where xDSL/cable is not an option. In my part of the world (AU), a lot of businesses still use dialup .

Just a thought.
