Title: Urgent help needed squid???
Post by: lucian on December 28, 2011, 03:35:00 PM
I've just installed SME Server 7.5.1 (server-gateway) and I cannot acces https sites.
I've tried few times to reinstall and with the same result.
The interesting thing is that if the client machine has the proxy set up then everything works just fine. Dont know where to start  debugging...
No dansguardian installed...

Sounds like your default gateway is set up incorrectly on the client machines. If you use SME server as the DHCP server on your network it should work OK.

If you want someone here to help you work out in detail what is wrong, then post a description of your network setup (topology, etc).

I'm sorry i didn't mentined the whole story in the previous post but the situation is like this:
I've been using SME server 7.4 for a while now on a P4 machine and i just got an HP server. I've followed the instructions and migrated everything to a new hardware but the new server just wont work like the first one. I have no problems on running the old machine and the network is just fine ( and that's for 2 years now) but the new cloned server just wont do the same work.

Problem solved... seems that sme7.5.1 had some problems working with the lancards on the HP server... just installed 8.0 beta 7 and everything is just fine now. I migrated to new hardware with no problems...
Thanks
