Title: services fail to start
Post by: Andrew on July 16, 2002, 06:40:14 PM
G'day All,

I have a clean install of SME 5.1.2 with update 2.  Whenever I boot the services "http-e-smith" and "httpd" fail to start.  This does not seem to cause me any problems since I don't web-serve with the box but can anyone suggest why these services may fail to start.

Thanks,
Andrew.

Type:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start

From the command line.  See what the errors are.  It could be something in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf

Thanks Nathan,

The service starts fine that way (I'm glad you told me that.  I haven't learned how to start and stop services yet) it only seems to be on bootup that it fails ... we'll see how we go.

Thanks again,
Andrew
