Hi,
After recovering a backup, i can access the server using user root, but i do not have access to the server using "ipserver"/server-manager in a local network computer by firefox, google chrome or windows explorer.
Somebody knows something about this problem?
Thanks.

/var/log/httpd/admin_error_log, for example

I am going to check the logs....

What is the output of the following commands:
sv s httpd-e-smith
sv s httpd-admin
httpd -t
httpd-admin -t

ok, In case it happens to someone i am going to explain what I believe is a bug in sme server.
The sme server version: 7.5.1
Problem:
After recovering a backup realized in remote computer, server-manager cannot be access, users and ibays not recovery.
In the error_log file there was a message about the server certificate.
Solution:
I delete all the certificate files in ssl folder and restart the httpd service.
The server-manager now is running and it can be accessed but the backup cannot be recovered.
So...In my opinion if the server has the openvpn installed the backup does not work well.

There is no proof of your assumptions in this thread. The backup does only work on clean machines or machines that have the contribs installed on the machine the backup was made.
Restoring a backup will only restore settings for contribs, i will not install contribs, this is by design an not a bug.

Please now do what you should have done when you first had the problem - create a bug report in the bug tracker.
Thanks.

No, that isn't true. Restore should work on any fresh install, regardless of what contribs were previously installed. The contribs, of course, will not work, but SME server should, including the server manager.

I install the server with all the contribs before recovering the information so i think that is a sufficient prove of what I think.
Anyway, the important thing for my is that if someone has the same problem it knows how to resolve it!!

That's not the recommended "restore from backup" procedure.

Please create a bug report so that whatever problem occurred can be properly diagnosed and, hopefully, corrected in the software.

"That's not the recommended "restore from backup" procedure." This was the second recovery procedure i did, the first was with a sme server without contribs.
Could you tell me where can i read the recommended procedure?
Thanks.

Ocascante, you have now been asked twice by a Senior Developper to report your issue to Bugzilla, please comply. If you do not know how to report a potential bug, go: http://bugs.contribs.org/
Thanks

I would hope that was in the system documentation. I don't read that often, so don't know what's there.
From looking here:
http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter10
I'd say that there were some updates required.

I'd say that there were some updates required.
Indeed. However, operating words are:
"Ideally you should restore on a freshly installed server"

Please follow up in bugzilla by answering the information requested of you ie
.....did you use a restore process from SME Server or did you manually do that or use a custom restore process?
