The question here is whether sme compiles the spamassassin rules in order to improve performance, each time new rules are available and downloaded. This is especially useful for heavy mail servers. Searching in the forum did not produce any hints, so apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.

sa-update (http://spamassassin.apache.org/full/3.2.x/doc/sa-update.html) is run daily by /etc/cron.daily/sa_update, which does not appear to include any reference to sa-compile (http://spamassassin.apache.org/full/3.2.x/doc/sa-compile.html).
Plus, I don't see 'loadplugin Mail::SpamAssassin::Plugin::Rule2XSBody' in either /etc/mail/spamassassin/init.pre or /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf, and it is commented out in /etc/mail/spamassassin/v320.pre.
So... I don't think SME is compiling the spamassassin rules after updates.
