Hi
Have been messing with an SPA3000, used to have it working a long while ago, but for the life of me I cannot get it to provision, all it gives in the SME log is denied to TFTP request.
However. Seems that I am running out of virgins to sacrifice, or the wind is blowing the wrong direction, that perhaps it is about time to select a newer product that works easily (If one exists)
So suggestions from any in the UK, for a suitable device.

HI Paul
The spa3000 is pretty much identical to the units which followed; neither Linksys nor Cisco did much more than to reskin the original Sipura screens with their own logos so there shouldn't be any real need to throw yours away.
There is no provisioning support in SARK for the spa3k (any variant). They have a wide range of set-up parameters but you don't need to touch most of them. As long as you have a basic understanding of SIP registration it ain't too hard and there is a guide on the site here;

As to alternatives, there are a few; grandstream have an offering but I don't know how good/bad it is. In the end, whichever one you choose, you are going to have to define it to Asterisk and they all look pretty much the same; a trunk and an extension. Just set it up as two separate devices using GeneralSIP for both the trunk device and the extension device. Alternatively, if you aren't bothered about the analogue extension port then just set up the trunk.

Hi Jeff.
Well I never, I found an old note from way back that had something along the lines of spa$MA.cfg for provisioning, obviously duff info on my part. Can stop trying to get that to work now then :-)
My problem for the moment is the dialplan on the SPA and asterisk to support it, always did have a mental block with that. But happy to say that I have the spa registered now for incoming and outgoing.
