Title: root ? linux ?

Hello,

I'm just new to this e-smith server. I do have a server 5.5 running, serving
up webpages.. but I would like to customize it...
I see all kind of commands I can do on a commandline, but have not been able to figure out WHERE ?
now I am able to telnet to my server, then login as admin with my password, I get the server options .
But when I try to logon as "root" I am lost, since I don't think I have set a root password...

I am very new to this (Linux/Apache/Sme) trying to learn..
