Hi!
E-Smith is great!
I would like to be able to check mail from out side the network " like at home " How do I configure E-Smith to allow outside conections for E-mail only?

Go to the email settings in the E-smith manager panel and change the POP server access from private to public. If you have E-smith 4.0 beta, the setting is in the "Other email settings" panel.
Note that if you do this, you open your server up to password guessing attacks, and you expose your passwords to possible network sniffing. It's best to use email forwarding to an existing ISP mailbox to allow at-home reading of email. WIth E-smith 4.0 you can set this up from the E-smith manager panel.

Or how about a web based solution? There's an earlier thread on this topic, so do a search and read it. I'm not promising miracles though!
