Title: MS Outlook not sending mail on Port 25 (SME 7.5)
Post by: lost_amigo on April 28, 2012, 11:59:05 PM
Hi folks,
Just want to ask, I am using SME 7.5 as a server/gateway and, like others here, one of the hosted computers that is hookedup to my server is running Outlook and, although it can receive emails nicely, it cannot send the mail. I have no idea why but, the smtp port number is 25. Could that be a problem? When I hook the computer directly to the modem it sends mail without any problems so I know that it is configured properly in this respect.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

im not 100% but if your sme is trying to proxy the smtp it will try and send it itself. Id disable smtp proxy first and test

As a side note it wont be sme. In its basic form it does exactly what it says it does without issue. My only issues ever with sme is using contribs etc.

If its pop3 related then it wouldnt be able to recieve. As its not sending to me its an smtp related issue?
