Title: Security Certificate Errors IE 9 and Server Manager
Post by: fastxl on April 30, 2012, 06:02:52 PM
New user and I am stuck. No matter what I do I keep getting the "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." when I go to the https://myservername/server-manager. I have tried Installing the certificate, but I still end up at the same place. I am stuck. Any would be great.

Thanks,
Eric

In IE9 you cannot install the certificate until you add the site to the Trusted Sites list in Internet explorer.

Added the site https://myservername to the trusted list, installed the certificate into the "Trusted Root Certification Athorities", restarted IE. Still no go.

I forgot to add one step. You have to select the correct Certificate store. It is the second one on the list. (I think it is called "trusted root certificate authorities").

You also must use the full server name + domain name to install the cert and use this address in the future. This would be

https://servername.yourmaindomain.com/server-manager
