Title: SME 8 and Proxy Authentication
Post by: Bud on May 08, 2012, 07:24:40 PM
Thanks SME Team for your effort and help

I have a SME 8 B7 Server running in " server mode "

Client has a Linux Proxy Server  (IP 192.168.1.2)

All users on the network need to enter their name and password before they can browse the web
IE and Firefox Proxy Settings on the Computers are set to: 192.168.1.2 Port 3128

How do i enter a Username/Password in for the SME 8 Server (with Port 3128) in order for the SME 8 Server to have web access to download updates etc.

Any help greatly appreciated

http://wiki.contribs.org/DB_Variables_Configuration#Squid_Proxy_.28squid.29
http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:FAQ#Upstream_proxy_server_configuration

anyway, the best solution is "whitelisting" SME's ip in upstream proxy
