Title: Grub boot menu options?
Post by: Kryptex on May 10, 2012, 04:05:13 PM
Hey,

Got a question about the bootup screen having 4 different versions, is it because of updates or something?

See screenshot below:

Is there any use for it, can / should I delete the other 3 that I don't boot up from anyway?

I'd left them there... updates will remove older ones as needed.
You have 2 versions of kernel installed, both of them with option to SMP (multi processor).

They're there for security ... if new kernel failure to boot, you can choose old one.
If you have no problems since last upgrade... be grateful and let them there!
It's just a "B plan" ;)

BTW: next time please use the subject line to describe your doubt/problem... it help support guys to READ you problem... "question"only  is WAY TOO VAGUE! ;)
